AMFI: The Alberta Manufacturing and Fabrication Innovation
AMFI is growing to become a technology transfer program designed to de-risk and screen advanced technologies for Alberta Manufacturers and Fabricators.
The program is designed to enhance understanding of modern fabrication technologies through hands-on welding demonstrations, metallurgy fundamentals and lean manufacturing principles. Incorporating technologies and best-practices from around the world, AMFI offers engaging technical-theory workshops coupled with interactive, hands-on equipment demonstrations.
Sessions are hosted by Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures (AITF), the University of Alberta’s Canadian Centre for Welding & Joining (CCWJ) in partnership with the Government of Alberta.AITF and the CCWJ would like to formally invite you to register for AMFI’s two day, hands-on workshop, being held in Devon/Edmonton, Alberta, on June 17 & 18. The course is only $399 + GST per person and includes access to all workshop sessions, hands on opportunities with the equipment, breakfast and lunch for both days, as well as refreshments throughout the event. Event logistics are listed below. The demonstration will also showcase:• ESAB Submerged Arc Welding ICE Technology • Miller Electric Twin Wire Submerged Arc Welding System • Fronius Compact Cladding Cell • ONH Gas Chromatographer • Hot-Wire GMAW • PTAW with large torches • Dilatometer
