Thanks for all you that stopped by our booth at the CanWeld in Montreal. It has been a fantastic experience.
For the show we displayed a demo version of our Beammaster Weld:
Christian Lefebvre, Welding Engineer for AGT Robotics, has held a conference on:
“Robotic Welding – How to adapt to real life conditions – available technologies.”
Robotics used to be applicable almost exclusively to repeat parts (hence the major use in automotive industry). It is no longer the case. Several tools have been developed to help users apply robotics to one-off parts, to deal with imperfect part fit-up and to allow higher tolerances to the automated processes. Some of those software/hardware tools have been around for quite a long time while others have only been released recently. This presentation gives an overview of those tools that are available today to help the industry deal with real life conditions and how simplified offline programming, combined with seam finding, seam tracking, and adaptive welding can be used together to apply robotics successfully to single parts.
CanWeld Expo is the only Canadian-made major exhibition dedicated to welding, metal fabricating and finishing. Held in partnership with the Canadian Welding Bureau’s award-winning CanWeld Conference, this annual event will visit the centre of Alberta’s manufacturing heartland – Edmonton. This location also aims to service the region’s active oil & gas, petrochemical, agriculture and general manufacturing supply chains.
A national event by scope, the 2017 CanWeld Conference & Expo will be located in Eastern Canada.
