“Carpe BIEMH”
The 2026 edition of BIEMH confirmed the trade fair’s status as a major stage for the European manufacturing industry: more than 39,000 professionals from 65 countries attended in Bilbao. Automation, robotics, and digitalization ranked as the third area of greatest interest for visitors, with 24% of preferences, clearly reflecting where the industry is headed.
AGT was present at the FICEP Iberia booth with a BeamMaster system: the autonomous robotic welding system that is redefining how structural steel manufacturers approach production.
This presence reinforces AGT’s intention to strengthen its position in the European market, with a particular focus on the Iberian market. In just two years, the company completed equipment installations in Portugal and, more recently, in Spain, in addition to many other projects carried out across Europe.
BeamMaster and the change of structural steel production
The BeamMaster is now the benchmark system in autonomous robotic welding for structural steel. Equipped with Cortex software, developed by AGT, the system automatically generates welding paths from a CAD file in just a few seconds, completely eliminating the need for manual programming.
To account for normal fit-up variation, the system incorporates the SnapCam 3D vision camera, which adjusts welding paths in real time, ensuring consistent and predictable results regardless of part complexity or production volume.
The response from the Spanish market at the trade fair confirmed what the team had already been sensing in the field. “The structural steel sector is going through a period of change. Companies are no longer asking whether they should adopt robotic welding, they are asking how to do it. And that is exactly where BeamMaster stands out: it gives companies the ability to produce more, with the consistency they need, and the confidence to take on projects that were previously beyond their reach,” says André Ferreira, Business Development Manager – Europe.
The European market is increasingly receptive
The level of interest generated at BIEMH was a very positive surprise. “We spoke with several companies from the Iberian market that came to us already carrying concrete projects in hand. These companies were not just looking to automate. They were looking to stabilize and grow their business in a sustainable way. That is exactly what AGT offers,” adds André Ferreira.
From Lamiera to Schweissen & Schneiden, and now BIEMH, each trade fair reinforces AGT’s growing commitment to the European market. With equipment already installed in France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and now Spain, the mission remains clear: to be the leading partner for structural steel manufacturers that want to grow with consistency and confidence across Europe.
